Santa Cristina is a municipality in the province of Bolzano. It lies on the sunny side of Val Gardena, in front of the Sassolungo, at an elevation of 1428 m.
Santa Cristina is a pleasant location in both winter and summer; it is an ideal starting point for skiers and hikers, who can walk in the middle of nature, have a great time in a wonderful atmosphere, look for silence, have a rest or have fun.

Walking in the nature parks Puez – Odle and Sciliar you can enjoy a unique natural landscape, admire the great geological variety of rare beauty, see a lot of different animals.
In winter the famous “Sella Ronda” and the surrounding area are often frequented by skiers. Thanks to the direct access to the “Sella Ronda” and the “Gardenaronda” the village is a very popular winter resort.
Santa Cristina has developed an own tradition and culture that is still alive.
Every year takes place the Christmas fair and many sculptors work on the world’s biggest crip, expressing their creativity, fantasy and imagination. The impressive work of art can be admired in the Sportcenter.
With the completion of the ring road, the town centre is now a quiet traffic free area where strolling is a delight.
Between Selva Gardena and Santa Cristina you can admire the Castel Gardena, that was built as a sommer castle and a hunting lodge.
For astronomers and chronometry experts is the Monte Pana Sundial very interesting. This example of a spherical equatorial sundial has a diameter of two metres and shows the true time of S. Cristina and of other 60 cities in the world, as well as Central European time.
